Some Projects That Shilcocks Have Worked On

East West Rail Alliance

 

A £1bn Alliance involving Laing O’Rourke, VolkerRail, Atkins and Network Rail to re-establish a rail link between Bicester, Milton Keynes and Bedford.

Shilcocks were appointed as Alliance Auditor in October 2019 and are currently auditing the Section 4 costs and helping to resolve legacy audit issues.

 

 

GNGE Alliance

 

A £0.3bn Alliance involving Babcocks, Siemens, Carillion and Network Rail to renew the track, bridges, level crossings and signalling across 86 miles between Doncaster and Peterborough as part of the East Coast Main Line Capacity Relief Project.

 

Shilcocks performed the role of Alliance Auditor from the early stages of the project while the Target Costs were being developed, through to the end of the construction phase and agreement of the final costs.

 

 

Hitchin Grade Separation Project

 

Hitchin Grade Separation Project introducing an Integrated Project Alliance Organisation with Hochtief (UK) Construction Ltd and Network Rail Ltd for the construction of the ECML flyover civil engineering works.

Shilcocks Ltd provided the Alliance with commercial management of the project under the terms of the Project Alliance Agreement, including negotiating large subcontract accounts and verification of actual costs and contractor applications, actual cost audits and change management.

 

 

Kings Cross Remodelling Project

 

High profile£300m Kings Cross Station ‘throat’ infrastructure civil engineering and OLE upgrade and infrastructure renewal project.

Shilcocks provided commercial management and cost audit support for key project commercial requirements when critical possession access was deferred resulting in a Target Cost review.

 

 

 

Rail Electrification Alliance (REAL)

 

A £0.2bn Alliance involving Murphys, VolkerRail, Siemens, Jacobs, TSP and Network Rail to upgrade the East Coast Main Line Power supply from Wood Green in London to Bawtry near Doncaster.

Shilcocks performed the role of Alliance Auditor from the early stages of the project following the tender stage and award of contracts to the Alliance members, through the Target Cost phase to the latter stages of the construction phase.

 

 

Sheffield Tram Train Project

 

First of its kind in England combining light and heavy rail infrastructure and power systems enabling tram vehicles to run on heavy rail infrastructure.

Initial commercial management involvement with early development works and authority approvals for design and early work requirements.

Shilcocks provided commercial mangement from the beginning of the scheme to the end of the construction works including involvement in a number of complex contract-based debates including system design responsibilities, property and land interfaces, and main contractor insolvency.

 

 

Wessex Capacity Alliance

 

A £0.4bn Alliance involving Skanska, Colas, Aecom, Mott MacDonald and Network Rail to primarily improve and increase the capacity of London Waterloo Station and bring the old International Terminal back into use.

Shilcocks performed the role of Alliance Auditor from the early stages of the project during the design phase while the Target Costs were being developed, through to the end of the construction phase and agreement of the final costs.
